Me: Everlasting Love is the third “firefighter” romance set in Forest Ridge. Will we be seeing characters from the other books, Rekindled Love and The Look of Love, in this book?
Rosemary: In Everlasting Love Kevin Mathews is the hero, he was a minor character in both previous books. The heroine Miranda Cummins is a new character. Characters from both Rekindled Love and The Look of Love are secondary characters in this book.
Me: Do you plan to write more “firefighter” romances set in Forest Ridge and can you tell us more about Forest Ridge and what it’s based on?
Rosemary: At this time I don’t plan to write more firefighter books, however, I have more romance books planned with the setting in Forest Ridge. This is a fictional city located along the Columbia River. The Columbia River Gorge is a beautiful area in Oregon, with rugged rock formations, forest and the lovely blue river below. It was carved out of sheer rock and is rated one of the most beautiful areas in Oregon.
Me: Your books main characters, Kevin and Miranda are both at a crossroads. He’s at a crossroads with his career, while Miranda is the crossroad of just walking away from a controlling ex-husband. What is it about being at a crossroads that made a romance between these two so undeniable?
Rosemary: Kevin and Miranda meet unexpectedly at a mountainous cabin. They both need sometime alone, he wants to think about his career and she is struggling to write a romance book after her divorce. Although she’s a stranger, Miranda understands him better than anyone and voices what he’s been thinking about a career change. Over the weekend they form a bond and they both realize one weekend isn’t enough time together.
Me: Your bio states you have a love for the outdoors. Do you prefer hiking in the woods or just hanging out in the yard or park?
Rosemary: My husband and I walk six nights a week because of limited time the walks are usually around our neighborhood. Recently, we hiked around the Multnomah Falls area, near the setting of my stories. It’s a beautiful wooden area and within the 3 miles we hiked we saw as many waterfalls. By far this was by the most relaxing walk I’ve had lately.
Me: What can we expect to see from you next on the writing front?
Rosemary: A novella on May Day ’13 with a couple of fairies helping the hero and heroine fall in love.
Quick get to know you questions:
Coffee or Tea? Tea. I love the aroma of coffee but don’t care for the bitter taste.
Winter or Summer? I love the cold crisp air of winter. Occasionally we get a little snow here but not enough to be a hindrance. I’m a native Oregonian so I really enjoy the rain.
Favorite color? My favorite color changes with my mood. I love blue and red.
Favorite book/author? There are several historical romance authors I love to read. Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas is my all time favorite. I love the Hathaway family.
Favorite snack? Chocolate. I’ve been trying to lose weight and it’s been a real struggle to cut chocolate out of my diet.

BLURB:
When Miranda Cummins borrows a friend’s cabin to finish writing her long
overdue book, she’s surprised to find the one-room retreat already occupied by
Kevin Mathews. Though she feels a spontaneous attraction for Kevin, Miranda has
recently escaped a controlling husband and isn’t ready for a long-term
relationship.
Unsatisfied with his occupation, Kevin is at a crossroads. Miranda
understands and encourages him to look at the direction his life is going.
Fired up by her encouragement, Kevin returns to Forest Ridge to resume his
firefighting career.
When Miranda is threatened by her ex-husband, Kevin realizes he will do
anything to protect her. Miranda has shown Kevin a new passion for life. Can he
fan the flames of passion into an Everlasting Love?

Excerpt :
In a
small town he had to be cautious. Driving too close to his intended victim
would be obvious. He’d lagged back allowing more distance between his car and
the one in front of him. When several vehicles exited the highway, he hung back
even farther. His prey was no longer insight but he knew the Chevy was still
there. He gripped the steering wheel tighter and tried to be patient.
As the
city gave way to the mountainous forest, he saw his opportunity; pressing on
the accelerator he started to close the space between them. Now, in this
isolated wildness, he needed to move in for the kill.
No one
would find a body or the missing vehicle for some time. This was the perfect
set up. No witnesses. No surveillance cameras. For once and all, he could
loosen the chain around his neck and live a carefree life again.
He sped
up and still no sign of the other tail lights. The driver must have turned off
to another road. He’d passed countless side roads since entering the highway.
Finding which road the other vehicle used would be impossible.
He wiped
his hand across the back of his neck. Pulling over to the side of the road, gravel
crunched beneath his tires. He pounded his fist on the steering wheel. He’d
quit his search for now. He’d find his victim another time. Then he’d free
himself from his burden.
