Character Interview - Brody and Amelia by Jennifer Lowery

Hi Maria and all you fabulous readers out there *waves* Thank you so much for having me today! My debut book, The Treasure, released this month so I’m very excited to be here! Thank you so much for sharing it with me!!

In honor of my release I am giving away a $5.00 Amazon gift card to one lucky commenter so please leave me a comment with your EMAIL to be entered to win!!

Writing Brody and Amelia was so much fun! Amelia went to South America on her adventure expecting a dashing, charming Indiana Jones and got a brooding, gruff bush pilot. Brody got a spirited, stubborn redhead determined to find the buried treasure her aunt left her.

I thought I’d share an interview with Brody and Amelia with you today. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

What do you like to do when you are not being actively read somewhere?

Amelia: I just opened my own pastry shop so I’m busy there. And Brody is busy with his new flight school business. **looks at Brody and smiles**

Do you like the way the book ended?

Amelia: Yes. I had my doubts there for a while, but Jennifer made everything right in the end. **takes Brody’s hand**

Brody: I could have done without Amelia getting shot. **laces his fingers through Amelia’s**

Would you be interested in a sequel, if your writer was so inclined?

Amelia: --Yes--

Brody: --No--
**look at each other**

**Brody scowls**

Amelia: Although there were some intense moments during our adventure, I would do it again in a second. As long as Brody was there with me. He’s very good with danger.

Brody: **really scowling now** Not on your life, Amelia. Never again.

Amelia: **looks at Jennifer and nods with a knowing grin**

What are you proudest of?

Amelia: **proudly** Finding the gift Aunt Pandora left for me. **she winks** And it wasn’t a buried treasure.

**Brody stares at his wife with so much raw masculine pride and love that I wrap up the interview J**

Thank you for having me today, Maria !! I just want to send out a big THANK YOU to all my readers out there! Without you I wouldn’t be here. My wish is to one day meet each and every one of you so I can personally thank you for your generosity and support!
All my best,
Jennifer

Amelia Sawyer is looking for adventure outside her ordinary life. She hires bush pilot Brody Kern to fly her into the South American jungle, expecting a dashing, debonair version of Indiana Jones, but Amelia butts heads with the brooding, gruff man.

Brody Kern, former Air Force fighter pilot, doesn’t need another Sawyer determined to find the elusive Paraíso. People had been hurt or killed trying to find the mysterious place, including Amelia’s aunt, but Brody’s business partner has cleaned out their account and taken off with the money. Now Jeremy’s bookie is breathing down Brody’s neck, threatening to break his kneecaps, or worse, if he doesn’t pay his friend’s gambling debts.

As Brody and Amelia hunt down the treasure with every criminal in the area wanting a piece, will it be the adventure of a lifetime—or will it result in heartbreaking betrayal?

About Jennifer:

Jennifer Lowery grew up reading romance novels in the back of her math book and on the bus to school, and never wanted to be anything but a writer. Her summers were spent sitting at the kitchen table with her sisters spinning tales of romance and intrigue and always with a tall glass of ice tea at their side.

Today, Jennifer is living that dream and she couldn’t be happier to share her passion with her readers. She loves everything there is about romance. Her stories feature alpha heroes who meet their match with strong, independent heroines. She believes that happily ever after is only the beginning of her stories. And the road to that happy ending is paved with action, adventure, and romance. As her characters find out when they face danger, overcome fears, and are forced to look deep within themselves to discover love.

Jennifer lives in Michigan with her husband and two children. When she isn’t writing she enjoys reading and spending time with her family.

My Review

Adventure, treasure and romance take center stage in Jennifer Lowery's The Treasure, a romantic suspense set in South America.  A naive heroine, a smoking hot hero and plenty of verbal give and take makes the romance sweet and spicy.  By tossing in a handful of bandits, a missing partner, and a secret map, Ms. Lowery kept me turning the pages to the very end.

Wanting adventure in her life, Amelia Sawyer heads to South America when she inherits a "treasure map" from Pandora, her favorite aunt.  More accident prone than successful, Amelia is determined to to prove she can live up to her namesake, Amelia Earhart.  She also wants to prove she can be successful to her family.  When the pilot her aunt recommended she hire refuses to help her, Amelia heads into the jungle alone.

Trying to locate his missing partner and money, Brody Kern has enough on his plate.  He's not looking for treasure, especially since no one has ever been able to find the fabled "Paraiso".  When an old client's niece refuses to take no for an answer, Brody finds himself headed into the jungle with a woman who's very alluring and a magnet for trouble.

The scenes between Amelia and Brody are a lot of fun; they have instant chemistry but refuse to acknowledge their attraction.  Their verbal give and take is also amusing.  As they are forced to trust and rely on each other as they look for the "treasure", their attraction continues to grow.  I enjoyed how Ms. Lowery developed their romance; it was sweet, spicy and fun.

Will Amelia and Brody make it out of the jungle alive?  And what about the fabled treasure of "Paraiso"?  I recommend you read The Treasure to find out.  I enjoyed it and I look forward to reading about Amelia's sister's adventures next.

My Rating:  4.5 out of 5 Stars
