"Dream Cast For Big Screen Movie of A No Good Itch
by S.D. Skye"

This is so exciting! I think every author’s dream, next to having their book whispered on the lips of Oprah, is to have their book turned into a movie or TV series. When I’m writing I have very clear pictures of my characters and it was no different for A No Good Itch.

For J.J. McCall, an African American FBI Special Agent the choice was tough. I have a very clear idea of who she is because she is loosely based on an agent I worked with during my tenure at the FBI. She was classy, always in a sharp suit. Always professional and quick on the uptake in the mind as well.

And she always looked much younger than her actual age.  MUCH younger. Like decades. So I would have to say—Aisha Tyler (left) or Nicole Beharie (right). Nicole is probably closer to the character’s age. Aisha is closer to the right height.

The only man I’ve ever seen who could play the part of Antonio Donato (Tony Donato), J.J.’s co-case agent and partner in crime, is Henry Cavill. He’s the face. He’s the body. I don’t know if he could pull off a Brooklyn New York accent but looking at him would surely make it worth the try.

I struggled over my CIA Case Office, Grayson “Six” Chance, who is a bit of a badass and the character you love to hate. But I finally settled on the first face that came to mind when I started writing the character – Morris Chestnut. I think he could pull him off, although I’ve never seen him be as ruthless as Six sometimes needs to be.

Aleksey Dmitriyev is a Russian SVR officer, foreign intelligence officer, who’s been recruited by the FBI and works in the Russian Embassy in Washington. For him, there was only one man—Anton Yelchin. He’s the guy who played Chekov in the Star Trek reboot. Not only is he really Russian, but if they add a little Grey to his hair, he will be the perfect likeness of the Dmitriyev I imagine when I’m writing.

FBI Director Russell Freeman is one of the main characters who sticks
around from book to book. For him, the choice was a little more difficult. I have two people in mind when I’m writing—Courtney Vance or Delroy Lindo. But I think I’m going with Courtney Vance. Both of them have that look of strong men who provide fatherly wisdom, yet can take a  hard line and show some backbone when necessary. That’s the role Director Freeman serves in the story.

Tony’s cousin, Santino Castellano, features pretty heavily in both Son of a Itch and A No Good Itch. He’s a bit of a badass, all about business and loyalty. He and Tony also look a lot alike in the story. What are the chances I could find anyone as hot as Henry Cavill??? I say chances are LOOKING GOOD. This is Antonio Cupo. One of my favs from the Hallmark Channel, but he fits the role perfectfly, don’t you think?

Tony’s father Sal Donato, a jailed crime boss, plays a key role in A No Good Itch. He’s the ultimate strategist. This is who I pictured as Sal, but with a little more grey in his hair.  Vincent Curatola would be great for this role.

Last, but not least is Six’s CIA Black Ops contractor in Moscow--Ghost. He’s a tough, military type. Full of wisdom with badass tendencies. Older guy who kicks butt and takes names. I was torn between a bunch of names but I went with Bruce Willis. We just need him to speak with a Southern accent. I think he could pull it off.

And this is my starring cast for A No Good Itch. Hope you enjoyed!!

About the book:

IN THE GAME OF ESPIONAGE, SPY TAKES TRAITOR.  J.J. MCCALL TAKES OVER.

The FBI and Italian Mafia make strange bedfellows when a vicious Russian Organized crime figure, operating at the behest of Russian Intelligence, lands in The Big Apple. The Russian intelligence hench-man, infamously known as Mashkov, avenges the death of slain a Russian sleeper agent and accidentally hits the son of an Italian crime boss, sending J.J. and Task Force Phantom Hunter to the streets of New York. They are stepping into a possible war between Russian and Italian organized crime factions, while trying to dismantle the financial hub of the most insidious Russian illegals network in U.S. History.

Meanwhile, CIA Case Officer Grayson “Six” Chance is in Moscow trying to capture a fugitive American who has stolen White House intelligence and is planning to pass it to the Russians—putting Six in a moral dilemma he may not be prepared to handle.

And when J.J. finally learns the truth surrounding her mother's death in the line of duty, her life may never be the same.

If you enjoy this book, you will love Book 1--The Seven Year Itch (A J.J. McCall Novel) and Book 2 -- Son of a Itch (A J.J. McCall Novel).

EXCERPT

The Sheriffs walked J.J. and Tony through a series of security doors until they reached the interrogation room. They left their overcoats with their escorts and tugged their suit jackets straight before entering. The sight of Kendell Phillips’ murderer shrouded in orange and shackled at the hands and feet gave J.J. a burst of pleasure she hadn’t felt since her early morning romp with Tony. A reddish blue bruise circled his eye and spread to the cap of his jaw. His gaze disintegrated under the weight of her glare and fell to his twiddling thumbs. She prepared to speak when an overwhelming scent jarred her senses—the smell of contemptible swine.

“My, my, my,” J.J. said to Maddix. “What an ugly fall from grace. Too bad they don’t make an Armani perp suit. You used to wear him so well.”

Positioned across from Maddix, Tony scanned the rat’s face and looked at him with a pained expression. “Rough night, eh? Did they forget to put you in solitary? Looks like you’ve been mingling with the locals.”

“Nothing I can’t handle,” he said with a shrug. Then he leaned back, spread his knees wide, and placed his hands in his lap. “So, this is the reason you came all the way to Shangri-La? To gloat?”

J.J. savored his misery and then vexed him with a tight smile. “We’re here to discuss your comrade in arms, Hawk—Gary Mosin.”

“Newsflash, doll.” Maddix forced out a grating laugh, overplaying his weak position just a smidge. “You get nothing from me, not without a deal. I want immunity.”

“Immunity?” J.J. blinked in rapid motion.

“Listen, you ain’t gotta make this difficult. We didn’t come here to pick a fight. Give us the information we need, and you can go back to counting the tiles on the ceiling . . . or whatever it is you do on the inside.” Tony contrived a calm demeanor as he reached into his pant pocket and pulled out a pack of Marlboro 100s and a book of matches. He slid them to the middle of the table until they stopped beside a plastic ashtray. “Our treat. Enjoy. But if you choose to stay on the difficult route, we can reverse course any time.”

Maddix cupped his hands and with no show of gratitude, pulled the offerings to the table’s edge, his shackles jangling with his every move. He folded back the foil on the corner of the pack and knocked the open end against his wrist until a cigarette emerged. Then his brow drew together, furrowed in confusion. “You don’t have a clue, do you?” His gaze ping-ponged between J.J. and Tony before he shook his head. “That’s why you’re here. You don’t know!”

  4. Trix, you CANNOT watch the Hallmark Channel and not see him. OMG. He stars in like every other movie. LOL My favorites are the Christmas flicks like Hats off to Christmas and The Thanksgiving Day Parade. Most recently he stared in this movie that was like the Groundhog Day of wedding movie chick flicks--I Do, I Do, I Do. Really cute. I'm a Hallmark movie addict. I one day hope to write a script and sell a movie to them.

  5. HI Erin, I hope this response doesn't show up twice. Seem to have lost my first one. Yes...I LOVE the casting too. What's the one thing that I have to have/do while writing? Well, I'm not one of those persnickety writers that can't write unless everything is "just so." You know, the moon has to be in the 7th house on Thursday after Scandal. Nope. Not that kind of writer. But there are a few things that certainly help. I'm far more productive if I'm writing while wearing pajamas (it's a comfort thing.) When I'm writing in longhand, I use a G2 gel pen and a Moleskine notebook. And I just got a MacBook and can't imagine writing without it. I. Love. It. So...I guess I'm more persnickety than I thought. Thanks for stopping by!
