Honor….

And betray…;

Now no problem becomes big problem as passion and desire rage out of control. Kara must look into the soul she thought she sold to make a choice. But can she look deep enough? Only she can decide who and what passion can save, or destroy, how when and who will finally learn the truth of the words… Till death do us part.

EXCERPT :

His boots scrunched on a sliver of glass. One of his mother’s wedding pieces, he noticed. Irrevocably shattered now. And something deep in his gut twisted.

Who the hell was he kidding?

She almost stilled his heart, what she did to him. He just hadn’t, couldn’t let go. The fear he could fall again. Couldn’t be hurt. Couldn’t lose. Not even when he saw, clearer than he saw anything tonight, the way she fought, the courage he so admired, she was all the way through his defenses.

And if there was something he missed here, it was because he was too frightened inside himself, after Morven, and the way he’d cracked—a man like him—to let himself see it. She terrified him that way.

Be hurt again? He swallowed the knot in his throat. Didn’t it hurt to think of life in a world she didn’t occupy the space next to him in? When he didn’t breathe her. Inhale her. Love her. As he hadn’t truly let himself the day he married her.

Was he going to lose this woman because he was afraid to feel again? When he’d known damn fine when he saw her in the yard, shivering and vulnerable, conniving too, he’d have died for her in that instant.

The thought was swiftly overtaken by another. More potent. More alarming. Stunning enough to make his feet recognize what his mind lagged behind.

Maybe she hadn’t touched on anything at all. She had been there before. And to let her out of his sight with Ewen for five seconds was five seconds too long.

 AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Shehanne Moore is a Scottish author, who writes gritty, witty, as much risky as risqué, historical romance, set wherever takes her fancy. Stories that detail the best and worst of human behaviour, as opposed to pouts and flounces. For years she worked at various things, while pursuing her dream of becoming a published writer, so she was gobsmacked to sell her book, The Unraveling of Lady Fury, written in three months,  to U.S. publishers, Etopia Press,  six days after subbing it.

Shehanne still lives in Scotland,  with her husband Mr Shey. She has two daughters. When not writing intriguing historical romance, where goals and desires of sassy, unconventional heroines and ruthless men, mean worlds do collide, she fantasizes about cleaning the house, plays the odd musical instrument and loves what in any other country, would not be defined, as hill-walking.

  3. So Shehanne, who would be the ideal models/actors to play your characters in a movie?

    1. Oh,,,,,well, got to sound it a wee bit for the Scots here. I think Scots lass, up and coming , though she's mainly only done TV work here Joanna Vanderham for Kara. . I first saw her in The Paradise a period drama and to me she has that air of guarded mystery. Plus she was born not too far away! Callm? Well Callm in my first draft was a totally different type of guy. Probably a bore actuallywho didn't know she was lying. AND he had dark hair. MY muse was Johnny Depp.BUT then half way through this totally different character stepped clean off the page, kind of gritty and tormented and smart enough to see through her in a second but silly enough to still fall and I can see Josh Holloway play him. or keeping it Scottish...Gerard Butler.

  9. Shehanne...It seems that the Scotland setting is very popular in romantic fiction, but we don't hear about too many Scottish authors (at least here in the U.S.). Why is that?

    1. Well, here's the funny thing, for years romance isn't the seller in the UK it is in the US where you have romance chapters, competitions conventions etc etc. There was Mills and Boon and that was about it. Yes, of course there were other publishers selling romance but...how can I put this, these were not what I would quite class as romance. Think Old. Think hat. Things have changed substantially in the last year I'd say in the publishing world here with Harper Impulse etc setting up though, thank goodness. I can't speak for other authors, I can say that the kind of things I write fitted better across the pond so I decided to take that journey although it really wasn't easy. There's a perception we can't write steamy because the market is different here. Ouch! Obviously our spelling is another thing. ( you should see mine now!!! Bigger ouch!) And let's face it, you have plenty of your own excellent aspiring writers and excellent writers. Plus there's the tax thing. The UK and US have a treaty about royalties but the hoops you have to jump through and the months you have to wait to get that waiver and be allowed to earn in the US. Did I say ouch a moment ago? It is probably enough to make any self respecting writer head for the hills. Or go write a UK children's alphabet book instead. But I guess I am just stubborn and I wasn't for giving up!
