Spotlight and a Contest - Tiger by Laurann Dohner

Book 7 in the New Species series.

Zandy’s had too much to drink and is in the wrong place at the wrong time. She knows she’s going to die. When next her eyes open, a beautiful man-creature is holding her in his arms. He’s just too tempting to resist; her very own fallen angel. She wraps herself around his body, determined to have him. But when this angel turns out to be flesh and blood, reality crashes in—she’s seducing a New Species.

Tiger’s shock quickly turns to intense passion when the human female kisses him, despite the fact she’s trying to get his clothes off while he’s engaged in a task force operation. He’s also made it clear he’ll never take a mate. Rather difficult when he and Zandy can’t keep their hands off each other. The taste and feel of his little human just leaves Tiger wanting more.

Publisher's Note:While each New Species book is a standalone, the greatest enjoyment will come from reading them in series order.

A little bit about the author from her website:

A bit more about me...

I had a rather short area here telling a little about myself but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm happily married, I met my dream guy 21 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books - always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days. By the time I turned nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I got hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. I started to write my first book after I read a real bomb of one that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best. I thought...I could do better

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of  books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to attempt to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy. It's a dream come true.

If you haven't started reading this series....what are you waiting for?

I'll be giving away one digital copy,  in the format of the winner's choice,  of either Tiger or one of the previous books in the series if the winner has not read this series.

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Ayanna Barker moved in time with the fairground’s loud music as she stood in line at the beer tent. For a brief moment, the skies were silent as the air show regrouped for the final demonstration which would be followed by a huge fireworks display. So for the time being, it was solely the music that pulsed through her.

My Thoughts:

It sounds as if Ayanna is having a good time:)

The Friday 56 is a weekly meme hosted by Freda at Freda's Voice. To play along:

  • Grab the book closest to you, any book will do.
  • Turn to page 56.

The droning of the dial tone reached him. She’d hung up. Just like that. Just a short goodbye and then…nothing. Her tone…so distant.

So what are you Friday Book Beginnings and 56?

Teaser Tuesday - Worth The Scandal

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly Meme hosted by Miz B of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along

just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • Be Careful Not to Include Spoilers (make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title and author too so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teaser.
My Teaser this week   is from Worth the Scandal by Karen Erickson

“Better you find out now, right? That we didn’t take it any further?” A sob rose in her chest and she swallowed hard, trying her best to hold it in. She turned away from him when the tears filled her eyes and she pushed back her chair, tossing the napkin onto the table beside her plate. “I’ll be right back.”

About Worth The Scandal:

Strictly business? Try telling that to her heart…

Worth It, Book 1

Alexander Worth, President and CEO of Worth Luxury Goods, is a man never to be crossed. His unwavering sense of responsibility to the family business requires him to always be in complete and utter control. Until it comes to Tessa Crawford.

She’s quietly professional, shy, voluptuous…and she works for him. Which means she is the one woman he must never touch, no matter how hard his gut twists with need for her.

After rising above her disadvantaged childhood, Tessa knows the last thing she should do is risk throwing it all away by falling into bed with her sexy boss. But on an extended European business trip, all self-imposed barriers burn away in the heat of their sizzling chemistry.

Once back home, though, whispers of corporate espionage turn into full-blown scandal—and Tessa finds out the hard way where Alex’s loyalties lie. Determined to soldier on, she picks herself up and carries on with a secret, yet welcomed burden. Never guessing that Alex will make a reappearance in her life, ready to show her once and for all that family does, indeed, come first.

Product WarningsContains a sweet-yet-strong woman, and a bossy alpha male brought to his knees by the woman he desperately loves. Involves enough begging and groveling that the reader may be tempted to “accidentally” leave it for her significant other to “find”. For instructional purposes only, of course!

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or if you don't have a blog share your ‘teasers’ in a comment here. Thanks for playing along!
